Afterthoughts
This is the worst
syndrome that I have got, Afterthoughts. None of my deeds goes without
afterthoughts. I don’t know what makes it happen, lack of confidence or
anything else. Every time I talk to a person (unless he/she is very close to me
or I have known him/her for years) I get afterthoughts about the whole
conversation, I make sure I was reasonable and correct during the conversation.
When I cook something, I get afterthoughts about it. Whether it’s good or not, whether everybody is liking it or not.
Same thing happens when I write something. Be it a poem or a story, or just a write-up, I get afterthoughts. I know it’s not a healthy thing to get afterthoughts in everything. It just shows the lack of confidence in you, it shows how you are not sure about your deeds, and you surely don’t want to create this kind of picture, do you?
I have tried several times to dispose of this practice, but it comes spontaneously, I don’t have a control over it. What would you call it, fear of hatred or lack of confidence.
The April A-Z Challenge has begun. This is my first post in this challenge. Prompt for Day 1 was 'A'.

DeleteI have afterthoughts, too. I think it's normal and natural. I'm a writer, too, and often get insecure and unsure about what I've written. That, I like to believe is par of the course of being a writer. Having afterthoughts is like a form of critiquing ourselves. Doing self-evaluations. If done positively for improving ourselves and our work, why not?

DeleteI don't think that has to do with insecurity at all! I'm pretty sure it actually is a normal brain function. The brain is always learning, so we consider and analyze a lot more than we need to in order to adjust to similar situation in the future. Don't worry about it. :)
