Cigarette Ends
Courtesy- The Mag |
I am living the day again,
Till now; the day
You threw me like
A burning cigarette ends.
Burning but yet ensuing end.
I am living the day again.
I am waiting,
Till now; for you
Fervently, no matter how
Egos burnt us and turned us
Into trodden cigarette ends.
But now I promise you again,
A beautiful life; without any smog,
I have wiped the slate clean,
Waiting for you to write within,
A life full of happiness,
A life unlike cigarette ends.
A life unlike cigarette ends.

A Promising Poem.
ReplyDeleteNicely Written. :)
I hope you don't have to wait too long! I love your cigarette end simile.
ReplyDeleteVery nice job! Liked it :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a hopeful poem ... I guess I should read this whenever I feel down ... truly inspirational :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the metaphor. Keep it up. :)
ReplyDeleteNice rhyme, Sayantini:)
ReplyDeleteStriking analogy.
ReplyDeleteThe most notable attribute is that how you pulled out an emotional theme from the otherwise mundane cigarette ash. Good work
ReplyDeleteThe promise and hope is presented so powerfully in simple words. Repetition of the ending lines brought out the strength of that promise. It does reminds me of the song, 'Mein zindagi ka saath nibata chala gaya.'
ReplyDeleteI think it is simple and beautiful. Of course, a refreshing read too :)
nicely written...
ReplyDeleteCigarette has two ends... One end have burning tobacco and other end a person burning from inside !!!!!
Very true
ReplyDeleteHOPE ...that keeps us going , hope your wait ends v soon :)
ReplyDelete"A beautiful life; without any smog" ah, that smell drifting towards one in the supermarket isle, loved the line.
ReplyDeletenice..:)
ReplyDeleteYou really should give up smoking, not preaching, just saying!
